An international group of four artists – Florence Peake, Laurel Dugan, Sally E Dean and I-Ching Lao from London, New York and Los Angeles co-created this dance/theatre production. Amongst shredded newspaper, three bird-like women stand in glamorous, yet surreal show girl costumes, accented with elaborate, yet elegant headdresses—revealing the superficiality and absurdity of their external world. In extreme contrast, the choreography and movement captures the vulnerability, animal-like grace, and depth within the internal world of these bird-like women. As internal and external realities collide and merge, this dance/theatre piece creates erupting moments of soft connection with inevitable chaos and delicate destruction.
